After the status of his marriage landed in this week's rumor mill, rapper T.I. has officially broken his silence and cleared up the chatter that he and his wife, Tameka "Tiny" Harris, were headed toward splitsville.
The self-proclaimed "King of the South" dismissed speculation that his three-year marriage to the former Xscape singer was on the rocks, explaining to TMZ that the pair was involved in a "big argument" prior to Sunday's Grammy awards. T.I. said that Tiny wanted to attend the event and walk the red carpet, and T.I. ... did not.
Luckily, the two spent the evening evaluating their disagreements and reportedly patched things up the "next morning," said the rapper.
T.I. is keeping busy, so marital trouble would be the last thing he needs right now. In addition to co-headlining the VH1 reality show "T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle," the rapper is also getting ready to release his ninth studio album later this year. According to Billboard, Pharrell Williams will executive-produce the as-yet-untitled album -- T.I.'s first for Columbia Records -- and Timbaland and DJ Toomp will have production credits.
"I'm honored to be partners with such a successful, passionate and creative conglomerate like Columbia Records, who respects and supports the vision of their artist and partners," T.I. stated in a press release announcing his partnership with the label.
"Nothing but love, respect and appreciation for Doug Morris, Rob Stringer and the entire staff. Also, a special thank you to my big bruh, Sk8board P, for always believing in me and also executive producing my upcoming project."
