Fresh off her sizzling GQ cover, Katy Perry appeared at Sunday night's Grammy Awards broadcast to perform "Dark Horse," he hit collaboration with rapper Juicy J. Perry was inside a crystal ball as the performance started. By the end, she was standing in front of a fire.

Perry received two 2014 Grammy nominations for "Roar," the first single off her latest album, "Prism." The track earned nods in the Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance categories, but the remainder of the record was not eligible for consideration at this year's ceremony. ("Prism" was released after the Grammy nominations deadline.)

Before the Grammys, Perry's last major awards show performance was at the American Music Awards in November of last year. That appearance was a source of some controversy after Perry performed the song "Unconditionally" while wearing a kimono, appropriating many other influences from Japanese culture. In the aforementioned interview with GQ, Perry brushed off criticism that her performance was racist. "All I was trying to do is just give a very beautiful performance about a place that I have so much love for and find so much beauty in, and that was exactly where I was coming from, with no other thought besides it," she said.
