Adam Maygar, while aboard a train passing through Grand Central, took this beautiful slow-motion footage of people waiting on the subway platform. The video, "Stainless, 42 Street (excerpt)," has the mesmerizing quality of making the viewer feel as if they're able to press "pause" in real life, while studying the diverse facial expressions of a diverse set of strangers.

Maygar described the project, according to Gothamist, as "an endless row of living sculptures brought together by the same subway line, the same direction, the same intention of taking the train to get caught and carried away by the urban flow. All their motions slowed down, they are graceful..."

In other words: Eight million people, eight million stories, one subway system.
