Disney Princes Strip Down For World AIDS Day In Italian Artist And Activist's New Project

Aladdin, Prince Eric and John Smith are just three of the Disney princes who are stripping down for a new World AIDS Day campaign -- courtesy of an Italian artist and activist.

The "Hello Boys" project, which puts a humorous and sexually conscious spin on eight Disney princes, is the brainchild of artist aleXsandro Palombo.

"We live in a society that bombards us with explicit messages and this has radically changed the sexual habits, especially those of young people who often change partners nowadays," Palombo told The Huffington Post in an email statement. "People who have a relationship are younger and younger and they don’t use condoms."

Palombo, who says he opted to incorporate the beloved characters into his work because they "represent the youth, beauty, love, the dream [and] the desire to live," added, "This subject is unfortunately still taboo in most of the families who prefer not to deal with certain issues. If the family can’t, I think that it’s up to the society and the community to do something to raise awareness, inform and educate."

"Life is wonderful and we have to live it fully and protect it every day," he said. "That’s what we have to teach to the young people."

New Sony Movies Leak Online Following Hack

Following a cyber attack that hacked into Sony Pictures last week, five of the studio's new films have leaked online. Unreleased features "Annie," "Still Alice," "Mr. Turner" and "To Write Love On Her Arms" were joined by Brad Pitt's "Fury," released in October, on file-sharing sites over the weekend. As Variety noted, "Fury" was among the most-pirated films with 1.2 million downloads as of Nov. 30.

"The theft of Sony Pictures Entertainment content is a criminal matter, and we are working closely with law enforcement to address it," a representative for Sony said in a statement to Variety. According to The Verge, Sony would not confirm that the leaked films, likely ripped off DVD screeners that studios send out during awards season, were part of the initial hack.

Thus far, "Fury" has made $171 million around the world. "Still Alice" and "Mr. Turner," both Sony Pictures Classics releases, are not expected to make big inroads at the box office. The family film "Annie" is due out in theaters on Dec. 19. Variety reports that it has been downloaded more than 206,000 times so far. "To Write Love On Her Arms" is due out in theaters next year.

The one other major release Sony has set for the end of 2014, "The Interview" with Seth Rogen and James Franco, was not leaked online. That film focuses on two entertainment journalists trying to kill North Korea leader Kim Jong Un. As Re/code reported on Friday, Sony was investigating whether the initial hack was done on behalf of North Korea. The North Korean government had previously slammed Sony for the production of the comedy.

"The act of making and screening such a movie that portrays an attack on our top leadership ... is a most wanton act of terror and act of war, and is absolutely intolerable," a North Korea spokesperson was quoted as saying back in June.

Four Of Van Gogh's Floral Paintings To Be Exhibited Together For The Very First Time

0

Almost 125 years ago, after bouts of self-mutilation and hospitalization, Vincent van Gogh announced to his brother Theo his plans to embark on a series of floral paintings. The iconic Post-Impressionist painter completed almost 130 of these works in this last phase of life. But following his death, the depictions of wildly spinning flora, left behind at the Saint-Rémy asylum where van Gogh was living, were eventually split up.

This May, the Metropolitan Museum of Art will exhibit four of the riveting depictions, side by side, for the very first time. The show, titled "Van Gogh: Irises and Roses," will feature just what it states. The Met's "Irises" will be matched with its long-lost counterpart at Amsterdam's Van Gogh Museum, while the Met's "Roses" will reunite with the "Roses" from the National Gallery of Art in D.C.

"How well he has understood the exquisite nature of flowers!" French art critic Octave Mirbeau, and the first owner of one of Van Gogh's "Irises," raved of the works. Mirbeau's words continue to ring true today. "Still life" is hardly the right way to describe Van Gogh's vibrant depictions, swirling with color and pulsing with natural life.

irises met

Due to his use of light-sensitive pigments, the original colors and effects found in van Gogh's flower homages have changed over time. As the Met explains, "The chrome yellows have darkened slightly, and the highly fugitive red lakes have faded almost completely. In turn, the violet irises are nearly blue, the pink background and pink roses almost white. The carefully plotted color relationships (within and between the works), the integrity of various details, and the intensity of overall expression have been lost in the balance."

Still, the works remain captivating as ever, transporting viewers to van Gogh's view of the overgrown garden at Saint-Rémy, a view which, thanks to the artist, will remain immortalized.

"Van Gogh: Irises and Roses" will run from May 12 until August 16, 2015 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Madonna Poses Topless For Interview, Talks Drug Use

Madonna is busting out of her bustier on one of the December covers of Interview and all together freeing the nipple inside the pages of the magazine.

The 56-year-old pop star held nothing back as she got real with magician David Blaine about everything from art and death to drugs. The three different covers and a series of boudoir shots were shot by photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

During their chat, Blaine called the singer's new song ("Devil Prays") off her forthcoming album "fucking amazing" and wonders why it's all about drugs, because "it's not like [she was] using drugs."

Madonna wasn't coy about her past drug use telling the magician, she's tried everything once, and explained the song is about "how people take drugs to connect to God or to a higher level of consciousness."

"I keep saying, 'Plugging into the matrix.' If you get high, you can do that, which is why a lot of people drop acid or do drugs, because they want to get closer to God," she told Blaine. "But there's going to be a short circuit, and that's the illusion of drugs, because they give you the illusion of getting closer to God, but ultimately they kill you. They destroy you. I mean, I tried everything once, but as soon as I was high, I spent my time drinking tons of water to get it out of my system. As soon as I was high, I was obsessed with flushing it out of me. [Blaine laughs] I was like, 'Okay, I'm done now.'"

Why 'What Do You Do?' Is A Question We Should Stop Asking

If the sentence "your professional position has become the central verdict on your character" sounds familiar, you probably suffer from something called status anxiety. And you're not alone.

The School Of Life -- a London-based organization that offers classes, therapy and videos centered on emotional intelligence -- put together a video on the concept of status anxiety, or worrying about the idea that we haven't achieved a high enough position in life.

"We live in a time where emotional rewards are pegged to the acquisition of material things," the video explains, noting that we place a huge amount of emphasis on our career or "what we do."

So, how do you lessen status anxiety? Come up with your own definition of success, the video suggests, and stop letting outer achievements define you.

In an interview with the website Empowering Women, Arianna Huffington echoed this sentiment.

"Jobs and financial security will always be important," she said. "But when we fall into the trap of chasing only the successes built on money, fame and power, we miss out on the happiness, purpose and meaning that come from reaching out to others, pausing to wonder, and connecting to that place from which everything is possible."

Oprah Winfrey's First Scene In 'Selma' Was Shot The Day Maya Angelou Died

0

Oprah Winfrey plays civil rights activist Annie Lee Cooper in Ava DuVernay's "Selma." It's a small part for Winfrey after last year's "Lee Daniels' The Butler" -- she appears in a few scenes total -- but no less important. After an opening sequence that sets the time and place, Winfrey's Cooper is the first face audiences see as her attempts to register to vote are thwarted by an unfair, unjust and racist system. It's a powerful scene and Winfrey plays it with few theatrics -- the grief, anger and sadness Cooper is feeling at that moment all bubbling just under the surface.

According to "Selma" director Ava DuVernay, Winfrey shot her first scene in the film on the day Maya Angelou died, May 28, 2014. "I said, 'Let's reschedule,'" DuVernay said in a profile for New York Magazine. "She said, 'No, I'm going to do this for her.'"

Following Angelou's death, Winfrey released a statement about the impact Angelou had on her life.

I've been blessed to have Maya Angelou as my mentor, mother/sister and friend since my 20s. She was there for me always, guiding me through some of the most important years of my life. The world knows her as a poet but at the heart of her, she was a teacher. "When you learn, teach. When you get, give" is one of my best lessons from her.

She won three Grammys, spoke six languages and was the second poet in history to recite a poem at a presidential inauguration. But what stands out to me most about Maya Angelou is not what she has done or written or spoken, it’s how she lived her life. She moved through the world with unshakeable calm, confidence and a fierce grace. I loved her and I know she loved me. I will profoundly miss her. She will always be the rainbow in my clouds.

"Selma" is out in limited release on Christmas Day. Head to Vulture to read the full interview with DuVernay.

'100 Years Of Beauty In 1 Minute' Video Will Make You Want To Go Back To A More Glamorous Time

When we think of retro beauty, we consider the neatly lined lips, fluttery eyelashes and the pièce de résistance -- that perfectly coiffed hair.

In a new video by Cut (the same site that brought you that amazing clip of grandmas trying you-know-what for the first time,) a model is transformed by a team of hair and makeup artists into different looks over the span of 100 years. She "travels" through different beauty styles from 1910 to 2010 all in one minute.

And while some of the earlier hairstyles (1940s pin-curls, for one) seem to require way more effort and maintenance than the slicked-back bobby pin look from the '90s, it's safe to say that the past 'dos are more glam and dare we say, more fun.

Take a look for yourself above, and excuse us while we spend the rest of the day looking up vintage hair tutorials.

See A Teaser For George Clooney's 'Downton Abbey' Appearance

George Clooney is coming to "Downton Abbey" ... sort of. Clooney will appear in a sketch for ITV's Text Santa fundraiser, which will air later this month. But in the meantime, fans can check out a photo of him on set and a brief sneak peek of the sketch. Throughout the show's seasons, many a "Downton Abbey" gentleman have looked dapper in a three-piece suit, but, if the teaser's any indication, Clooney might just take the cake.

Stuart Little leads art historian to long-lost Hungarian masterpiece

A long-lost avant garde painting has returned to Hungary after nine decades thanks to a sharp-eyed art historian, who spotted it being used as a prop in the Hollywood film Stuart Little.

Gergely Barki, 43, a researcher at Hungary’s national gallery in Budapest, noticed Sleeping Lady with Black Vase by Róbert Berény as he watched television with his daughter Lola in 2009.

Planting Peace Travels With Grace Phelps To Document Jamaican LGBT Homeless Youth

In an unlikely turn of events for the Westboro Baptist Church, a former member -- and daughter of the infamous Shirley Phelps -- just made a massive statement of solidarity with the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.

Grace Phelps traveled with Planting Peace President Aaron Jackson to Jamaica earlier this year to document the lives and experiences of LGBT youth living in the sewers of Kingston. Planting Peace is the non-profit organization behind the Equality House, the home painted the colors of the rainbow flag that sits across from the Westboro Baptist Church compound in Topeka, Kansas.

jamaica

"I spent twenty years learning why God hates gays, preaching that they're 'beasts' and 'depraved,' and protesting anyone who dared to speak up for them," Phelps said in a statement sent to The Huffington Post. "When I heard about the young people living in Jamaican sewers because their parents kicked them out for being gay, my heart hurt for them. I know what that's like, being rejected by your family for not going along with their beliefs. There's an irony there that I couldn't ignore: that I share a fate with the very people I was taught to dehumanize so fiercely. I wanted to meet them, to see their plight for myself, and help tell the world their story."

jamaica2

The plight of LGBT Jamacians is dire and they not only experience extreme levels of violence but also discrimination in terms of housing and employment. In order to help queer Jamaican youth who are systematically pushed out of social and political life in this country, Planting Peace has developed a CrowdRise campaignto provide there individuals support.

"Grace and I have become good friends since she left the church, and she jumped at the opportunity to join with Planting Peace and help document the conditions in Jamaica when I told her what was happening there," Jackson told The Huffington Post in a statement. "What we witnessed in the sewers of Kingston was nothing short of horrific. We documented acid attacks, stab wounds and even personally witnessed an altercation. The world has made great strides in the fight for equality, but this trip was a sobering reminder of how far we still have to go."

Photographer Tom Gill Captures Stunning Photos Of Frozen Lighthouse On Lake Michigan

Winter has definitely arrived in the Great Lakes region, dumping dangerous amounts of snow on western New York, but bringing some beauty as well. On the shores of Lake Michigan, iced lighthouses can form above the water during periods of cold weather. Last month, photographer Tom Gill was able to capture these amazing shots of one lighthouse in St. Joseph, Michigan before the ice melted away.

An iced lighthouse requires specific conditions. As below-freezing temperatures chill the lighthouse, water from splashing waves freezes to the surface and creates the beautiful ice formations, Gill told The Huffington Post in an email. But later in the season when the lake begins to freeze over and water doesn't splash as much, the lighthouse doesn't freeze as completely as it does in these early winter conditions.

"The lighthouse freezes on a regular basis, but never the same way twice, and some years, not much at all," Gill said. "The icicles twist depending upon the direction of the wind at the time, so some can be seen bending in multiple directions."

All photos and captions by Tom Gill (check out his blog for more frozen lighthouses).

Kanye West Likely To Tour In 2015, According To Rihanna's Charity Auction

0

We've heard zero updates on Kanye West's rumored new album, but a line in Rihanna's new charity auction revealed that West is likely planning a tour for next year. The charity's website has a listing for the "Kanye West Tour Experience," which is described like this: "Be Kanye West's special front row VIP guest for his upcoming North American 2015 tour. Experience a rare opportunity meet & greet with the icon."

Courtesy of Roc Nation, the bidding for this item starts at $15,000, and includes two VIP tickets "to a Kanye West concert date on his upcoming 2015 tour" -- see! A tour is in the works! -- a private meet and greet with West, a pair of Yeezy's "autographed tour memorabilia" and tour merch. According to the site, proceeds will benefit the Clara Lionel Foundation, which Rihanna founded in 2012. (Spin also points out that there's a similar auction for a not-yet-announced Rihanna tour as well.)

This is the first mention of any such tour, and is further indication that West's "Yeezus" follow-up is actually on its way. Roc Nation and West's representation did not return HuffPost's immediate request for comment.

One Of These 22 Men Will Probably Win Best Supporting Actor At The 2015 Oscars

0
0
best supporting actor

Welcome to For Your Consideration, HuffPost Entertainment's breakdown of all things Oscar. Between now and Feb. 22, 2015, entertainment managing editor Christopher Rosen and entertainment editor Matthew Jacobs will pore over awards season and discuss which films will make the most noise at the 87th annual Academy Awards.

No one has ever lamented a need for strong film roles for men, but this year's Oscar race implies an especially ripe time for complicated male parts in Hollywood. The Best Supporting Actor contest is just as crowded as the Best Actor derby HuffPost Entertainment chronicled a few weeks ago. The difference is that the supporting stars aren't quite as locked up as the leading gents. We have two likely nominees (J.K Simmons, Edward Norton), two strong contenders (Ethan Hawke, Mark Ruffalo) and a fifth spot that could belong to anyone. That means a handful of dudes could earn their first Oscar nominations (Miyavi, Tyler Perry, Chris Pine), while old favorites (Tom Wilkinson, Robert Duvall, Christoph Waltz) threaten to cast them aside. The rub is that many of these stars hail from massive casts ("Gone Girl," "Inherent Vice," "Selma"), so the real challenge comes in setting them apart from the pack. Here are the 22 men (you can't pick just five!) who could become this year's Best Supporting Actor nominees:

9 Things You Didn't Know About Britney Spears, Even If She Is Your Godney

0
0
If you're a true fan of Britney Spears, then you should already know that today, Dec. 2, is the pop queen's birthday. If you're extra obsessed, then you might even know some basic trivia like how she was originally in a girl group called Innosense or that she awesomely had a stripper at her 20th birthday. This list, however, digs even deeper into Godney lore and draws from little known stories of the early millennium involving Justin Timberlake, "Crossroads" and even a team of psychics.

If you can't say the word "oops" without "I did it again," then you should make sure to learn the nine things below.

1. Before the "Crossroads" kissing scene, Anson Mount ate a "big spoonful" of garlic to prank Britney Spears.

159827515

While promoting the iconic 2002 movie, "Crossroads," star Anson Mount told Entertainment Weekly that he had a disgusting surprise for Britney Spears when they filmed their big kiss:

After we kissed a couple of times, I took a big spoonful of minced garlic and washed it around my mouth real good. When we did the scene, Brit amazingly kept a straight face. After they yelled "Cut," I asked her, "Did you even taste that?" And she goes, "Oh, sweetie, I just didn't want to hurt your feelings."

Gross. At another point in the promotional tour, Rolling Stone asked Spears to confirm the prank and she responded by laughing and said, "Yes, I didn't appreciate it, but boys will be boys!"

2. Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake bought each other custom-made, $21,000 toilet seats that had their own faces on them. Britney's seat had Justin's face and vice versa.

TK TK gifs

This comes from 2002 gossip reports, but apparently while redecorating their $4.2 million Beverly Hills mansion, the two pop stars bought lavish toilet seats covered with each other's faces. Spears is quoted as saying:

I just couldn't resist ordering one for me and one for Justin. People might consider spending that much on toilet seats excessive, but for us they are a reminder of how far we've come since our days on the Mickey Mouse Club.

This doesn't seem like an adequate explanation for wanting to sit on your bae's childhood face while using the toilet, but this is the same couple that once wore all denim formalwear, so who knows.

3. An unfinished glass of orange juice that Britney Spears took a drink from from went on "tour" around Germany and then a fan got to drink the leftover juice.

77157664

During an interview with the Cologne, Germany radio station EinsLive in 2002, Britney Spears drank from a glass of orange juice. Normally, this would be an innocuous event, but instead of just washing the glass, the hosts of that radio show decided to take the remaining orange juice on a tour of Germany. They stopped in at least five different cities, doing their show live while the glass sat on a pedestal. "It is definitely her glass," said EinsLive spokesman Andreas Neuhaus at the time. Apparently at the end of the tour, a fan was rewarded with the opportunity to drink the remains of Spears' orange juice.

But the end of the initial radio tour was not the end of the road for Britney Spears' glass of orange juice. In 2003, the now moldy glass became the "star attraction" for a German cultural exhibition in the city of Bochum.

4. Britney Spears has almost accidentally burned down her home on multiple occasions and also trashed her mom's Lexus while growing up.

TK TK gifs

Britney Spears used to have a habit of leaving candles lit in her house, which at one point almost caused her Manhattan apartment to burn down. Lynne Spears, the pop star's mom, wrote on the official Spears site at the time:

Britney went to New York for four days. She and Jenny, her friend, shopped every day. One of those nights, they all came in to a real mess. Brit left a candle burning. The wall caught fire and the fire department had to put it out. Brit has really learned a lesson this time.

Lynne Spears also mentioned that her daughter had accidentally set a similar fire in her family home's bathroom by failing to blow out a candle.

In 2011, Britney Spears shared "25 things" about herself with Us Weekly and in the last line admitted, "I wrecked my mom's Lexus in high school." For all those choreographed dance moves, Spears seems to have a bit of a clumsy streak.

5. Britney Spears had her own psychics at one point.

97293432

For a cover article in Elle Magazine (pasted online at BritBrit), Britney Spears talked about the origins of her new bed saying, "The person I bought it from said it belonged to the English royal family 40 years ago.” Sort of crazy by itself, but then Spears continued excitedly with an explanation for the bed's origin that came from a pretty amazing source:

One of my psychics said that in another lifetime it used to be my bed. And they said that it belonged to a princess! She could be totally wrong but it’s a nice thought right? Anyway she said the princess used to travel with the bed and they used to piece it together and ship it on boats to wherever she was. Isn’t that cool? And what’s so weird is that my Grandmother is British!

First off, Spears is implying that she used to be a princess in a previous life, which is awesome. More important, though, is how she starts by saying, "One of my psychics." Did Spears have a whole team of psychics? Did they get the job by telling her stories of her past-life as royalty? Here's a psychic who claims to have read Spears' future at one point, but who knows how many more are out there. If anybody knows a psychic, could you ask them to try to use their abilities to locate the members of the Britney Spears Psychic Super Team? They probably looked something like the group pictured above from Alejandro Jodorowsky's "The Holy Mountain."

Image: "The Holy Mountain"

6. Not realizing her microphone was on, Britney Spears swore and cursed out the stage crew right before she started singing during a concert in 2001.

Britney Spears was only 19 at the time, but regardless of age, being overheard by around 170,000 fans saying things such as, "Don't tell me they're just letting the audience just f-cking stand out there like that. This is ret-rded" and "Oh sh-t. Oh, no. What are they doing? Oh, my pants are too short! I grew! I'm not just gonna stand out there" was not the best of moments.

From the recording, it seems that Spears was mostly upset that an intro song had not been played before she went out on stage so the crowd was waiting in silence for her performance to start.

Spears has had swearing outbursts throughout her career, notably in 2008 when she apparently lost it on a mall employee who failed to get Spears' black American Express card to work, saying, "F-ck these b-tches ... F-ck you, f-ck people, f-ck, f-ck, f-ck!" Who hasn't wanted to yell profanities while having to endure the mall though?

7. Britney Spears sent emails back and forth with Prince William, but then he stood her up on a dinner date.

53177040

Hit send baby one more time.

The year was 2002 and at the time, Britney Spears was 20 and Prince William was 19. The movie "You've Got Mail" had only come out a couple of years before and now the perfect sequel was playing out in real life between the potential future king of England and the rising queen of pop. But then Prince William was just like nah.

Spears sort of explained what happened during an interview with the British "Frank Skinner Show" in 2002 saying, "We exchanged emails for a little bit and he was supposed to come and see me somewhere but it didn't work out." The host then asked her flat out if she was blown off and Spears responded, "Yeah." Apparently the prince had gone fox hunting instead of being the perfect Joe F-O-X.

8. Before becoming famous, Britney Spears acted in theater productions and was even an understudy along with Natalie Portman for an off-Broadway play.

1710941

More than two decades ago, Britney Spears and Natalie Portman were both understudies for an off-Broadway play called “Ruthless!” According to Peter Conrad of The Observer, Spears played an evil infant that "hollered and rampaged through the theater in a fit of devilish ecstasy." Spears and Portman have been good friends for a while, even hosting a huge New Year's party together in 2002.

If you're curious what it'd look like if their careers had been switched, there may be some precedent ...

Spears has said that she wants Portman to play her in a biopic and back when Spears and Justin Timberlake were dating, N*SYNC famously got cut from "Star Wars Episode II" so the band made "Star Wars" shirts featuring Justin Timberlake as Anakin Skywalker and Spears as Queen Amidala, a role that Portman played.

9. Britney Spears thinks chocolate is as good as sex saying, "Chocolate for me is just like an orgasm."

TK TK gifs

Presumably on the same tour of Germany where she drank the orange juice mentioned above, Britney Spears stopped by the Imhoff-Stollwerck chocolate museum in Cologne, Germany where she was gifted a large white chocolate heart. While receiving the heart and standing outside the museum in front of fans, Spears was quoted equating chocolate to "an orgasm."

BONUS: Here's what it sounded like when Britney absolutely killed it on "Star Search."

Unfortunately, Britney Spears actually lost during this performance to some kid named Marty Thomas. The boy who defeated Godney now performs on Broadway.

Britney Spears has always been the Queen.

'I Am Santa Claus' Documentary Slammed On Social Media For Featuring Gay Man Who Plays St. Nicholas

0

It seems not everybody is merry and bright over the release of a new documentary, "I Am Santa Claus," which focuses on the personal lives of men who portray St. Nicholas at shopping malls during the month of December.

As Vice originally reported, some viewers -- many of which are known for playing Santa in their communities -- are angered by the inclusion of Jim Stevenson, a 73-year-old Texan Santa who is gay. Many of those viewers have responded angrily on the film's official Facebook page.

"Only in American (sic) can you make a mess of Santa and get away with it, they are all on my very, very, naughty list and they won't be getting off of it anytime soon either," one wrote on Facebook, according to Gay Star News. "Very bad writers, directors and actors as well, bad very bad!!!'

WWE Hardcore Legend Mick Foley, who produced "I Am Santa Claus" and also appears in the movie, defended the inclusion of Stevenson in an interview with The Mary Sue.

I think there are going to be two types of reactions to Jim: some will be touched by him, and others will have to work hard to convince themselves that they were not touched by him," Foley, who said he took a break from social media in an effort to circumvent much of the backlash, said. "Jim clearly does an outstanding job of making children feel special.”

Director Tommy Avallone told Vice that he felt much of the backlash was misguided, saying that "any Santa Claus who actually took the time to watch the movie loved it."

"We never said we were going to make a movie about Santa Claus," he added. "We're going to make a movie about the people who portray Santa Claus."

Ultimately, he didn't seem fazed by the criticism: "At the end of the day, they're grandpas and they're good people. They just have strong opinions."

VECTOR Gallery Showcasing At Select Fair During Art Basel Miami Beach 2014

0
0
One of the most controversial and fascinating art galleries in New York City will showcase this year for the first time at Select Fair in conjunction with Art Basel Miami Beach 2014.

The brainchild of queer artist JJ Brine, VECTOR Gallery is a post-human art experience unlike any other, self-described as the official art gallery of Satan. VECTOR operates independently of traditional understandings of time and space, having unilaterally seceded from the United States and declared its independence -- existing as a sovereign nation in NYC's Lower East Side. VECTOR is a constantly evolving religious text and it is the responsibility of gallery patrons to understand and interpret it on that basis. This is only scratching the surface -- Brine goes into further detail here.

The Huffington Post chatted with Brine this week about taking VECTOR to the Select Fair and what he has in store for Miami -- and the future.

jj

The Huffington Post: Why did VECTOR Gallery decide to showcase at Select Fair this year?
Eye didn't choose it, it chose me. VECTOR Gallery's presence at Art Basel Miami Beach is being sponsored by Select Fair. VECTOR is inexorably oriented toward its own expansion, so Eye regard this as a natural progression (Divine Intervention).

What is the concept driving your gallery recreation at Select Fair?
The concept for VECTOR at Select Fair is LEMNIVERSE -- this is a Vectorian term (see the Vectorian Glossary) encompassing the collective, interactive sum of all of the infinite universes in which each and every combinative configuration of potentialities is being played out simultaneously from beginning to end (INFINITOMENT). For instance, there is a universe in which everything is exactly as it is in “this” one, save for the fact that Eye smoke somewhat less frequently. And in another Eye smoke one less cigarette. And in another you never read this. And in another, you wrote it. In keeping with this limitless spread of limitless variables, Eye will update The Space throughout the duration of its life at Select Fair, as is The Law in all VECTOR portals. The updates keep it Alive. And verily it is a sentient space, thinking all thoughts, accepting the accursed blessing of omniscience for the sake of total knowledge of The Self."

LEMNIVERSE will also include a series of live performances by Vectorian Minister Lena Marquise (The Enforcer) and an oracular installation by Julia Sinelnikova (The Oracle). Incidentally, entry into the space comes at the non-negotiable price of your immortal soul, and this will be clearly demarcated. This is consistent with our operations in NYC.

Are there other aspects of Art Basel Miami Beach that VECTOR is involved with?
VECTOR Gallery is co-hosting the VIP Closing Party for Miami Art Basel "2014." Eye have also been commissioned exclusively to provide an immersive installation for this event. The concept will only be revealed at the hour of its execution. It just so happens that the Vectorian New Year will coincide with this event, and so The Clock Strikes 2023 A.D.

What do you hope stems from VECTOR showcasing at Select Fair?
Hoping and knowing that everyone who comes into contact with VECTOR will be hypnotized for the rest of their lives, embedding an awareness that is commensurate with the understanding that ALL THINGS must end, will end -- and in the manner of our choosing. This is the only way to provide for a new beginning, the integrative reconstitution of ALAN -- ALAN, the progenitive, absolute ALL that grew weary of its own ceaseless totality and dispersed us throughout the Externality. The reformation of this hive mind will be achieved through the same organic/synthetic processes that birthed our LEMNIVERSE, as everything is happening all at once from beginning to end. Don't you remember creating yourselves?

What's next for VECTOR?
The Vectorian Government is in a state of reformation; new ministerial reformation; new ministerial appointments are being made. VECTOR Los Angeles is coming soon. But VECTOR is everywhere and anywhere all at once. Indeed, VECTOR is a Radio Tower, and the broadcasts of Our dominant frequency are growing ever-stronger in all temporal modalities throughout The Grandest Estate, My LEMNIVERSE.

The Devil Is The Lord, The Lord Is The Devil.

Just as awards season began focusing in on "Boyhood" and "Birdman," the National Board of Review tossed a monkey wrench into the mix: "A Most Violent Year." J.C. Chandor's forthcoming drama won Best Film from the NBR on Tuesday, while co-stars Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain also took home acting awards: Isaac tied with "Birdman" star Michael Keaton for Best Actor, Chastain won Best Supporting Actress. Other winners included Clint Eastwood (Best Director for "American Sniper"), Julianne Moore (Best Actress for "Still Alice") and Edward Norton (Best Supporting Actor for "Birdman"). Movies on the NBR list of top films (not including "A Most Violent Year") are: "American Sniper," "Birdman," "Boyhood," "Fury," "Gone Girl," "The Imitation Game," "Inherent Vice," "The LEGO Movie," "Nightcrawler" and "Unbroken." Popular Best Picture contender "Selma" was not chosen for major honors, but did receive the NBR Freedom of Expression Award along with Jon Stewart's "Rosewater."

Last year, The National Board of Review made waves when it chose "Her" as Best Film. It would go on to score a Best Picture nomination at the Academy Awards, but few other NBR winners were afforded a similar fate: Emma Thompson (who won Best Actress), Will Forte (who won Best Supporting Actor) and Octavia Spencer (who won Best Supporting Actress) all fell short of nominations at the Oscars.
